NOMINEE BIO:
In 2016, Ashley Casil signed up as a volunteer at Haku Baldwin Center, assisting youth as a sidewalker in therapeutic/adaptive riding lessons. Since then, Ashley has contributed 1,065 volunteer hours over seven years and works in multiple programs supporting military veterans and youth with diverse needs.
Ashley’s ability to adapt and learn new skills helped advance her volunteer duties, which now include handling and caring for our herd, preparing horses and equipment for lessons, and supporting participants and instructors in mounted and unmounted programming. Ashley is a shining example of a lifelong learner who takes every opportunity to further her education in equine-assisted services and does so with a sense of curiosity and excitement.
Extraordinary volunteers like Ashley help us fulfill our mission of bringing joy and healing through horses. We sincerely appreciate her dedication to our participants, organization, and community. Ashley is a valued member of our team and a true Volunteer Hero.
